  • We hear this one a lot! It’s pronounced “luss hills” (rhymes with bus, not dose).

The Loess Hills are a rare and scenic landform that runs along Western Iowa, including areas near Missouri Valley, Council Bluffs, and the Omaha metro. Made of fine wind-blown soil called loess, these hills are found in only a few places in the world — and they’re part of what makes this region so unique.

We named our memorial company after the Loess Hills because, like these hills, the memories we help preserve are rooted in place and unique to the lives we honor.
